New Thoughts and Realizations

It's a Sunday. In a feat unheard of by anyone between the ages of fourteen and twenty-two, I went to bed at 9:30 last night, slept through my 6:30 alarm, and finally rolled out of bed1 at quarter to eleven. Cheerios with almonds for breakfast, sweatpants and a T-shirt from high school math club, "Red and Black" from the new Les Mis movie adaption on Spotify, and a bedhead terrifying enough to crack bathroom mirrors.

Welcome to the life of a lazy college freshman.

For some of you, this is your first time meeting me - as much as you can really meet a person over the Internet.2 It might be worthwhile to point out that I'm not typically this lazy, but I'd rather let the rest of this blog speak for itself.

Then again, that also means that there must be something more to this blog than one incredibly dull post about what I ate for breakfast this morning and a free template design from Blogger. That means that there must be something planned, or some sort of history, or at least something to make it worthwhile for you to bookmark this page.

The good new for you is that there's both a past and a future to this blog - or, more specifically, the name "Alexis Writes".

The other good news is that I'm not going to make your read it.

One thing that wasn't mentioned in the video is that, to celebrate my return from a stupidly long YouTube hiatus, I created a new Twitter account (@alexiswrites). My previous one was rarely used, and I was never sure which content to post there or how personal to make it. Now that I have a proper personal Twitter account, I better know how to manage the one for my social media life.

For now,
Alexis

1 This is actually a lie. I sleep in a lofted bed, so literally rolling out of bed would cause me some severe pain. Then again, there's nothing like a six foot drop to the floor to wake a girl up in the morning.

2 Sorry, eHarmony.
